楊北辰:「真誠的眼神+真情的話語+真心的關懷=愛的樣子」

目前華人當代藝術中最具代表性的「超級寫實藝術」雕刻家,目前任教於中國四川美院及台灣藝術大學雕塑系。作品出現於香港蘇富比、香港佳士得、上海泓盛、台灣羅芙奧等國際拍場及兩岸知名美術館如:北京中國美術館、上海當代藝術館、台北當代藝術館、高雄市立美術館…等。
擅長利用整塊原木,以極端精細的雕刻手法配合高度擬真的著色表現來模擬紙類或皮件的表面肌理,創造出幾乎令人在視覺上無法辨別材質真偽的超級寫實木雕作品。其創作題材大都取自於自身或他人所使用過的生活性物件,如:紙箱,手套,皮包,大衣,皮鞋…等,並透過對這些物件進行冷靜與緩慢的複刻來呈現深刻而抒情的側寫,並且敘述這些物件背後所蘊藏的故事和記憶。 Pei Chen Yang: “The image of love is sincere looks, real words and heartfelt consideration”

Born in 1970, Pei Chen Yang holds a PhD in Fine Arts (sculpture), Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain. He received his MFA from University of Salamanca, Spain, and his BFA from Taipei National University of the Arts. He works as a professional artist now, and teaches at Department of Sculpture, National Taiwan University of Arts.

Yang’s sculpture combines exquisite carving skills and techniques as well as realistic handling of texture, creating visually hyperrealistic objects while integrating heartwarming, humanistic stories into these artworks. He has held multiple solo exhibitions in Taiwan, Japan, China, Spain, Korea, etc., and has won the Excellence Prize of ELISA International Sculpture Award in Spain, an honorary scholarship for sculpture and sketch from University of Salamanca. His works have been collected by Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, etc.

Making use of an artist’s unique, sensitive perception and the natural, gentle wood as creative material, Yang’s ‘leather’ shoes, bags and jacket of great sentimental value depict profound memory and deep affection as they have accompanied some people through a certain period of time in their lives.
創作自述 雕刻並非僅在於對形象和肌理的直接複製,而是將某種意義由一種物質(物件)傳遞到另一種物質(木材)之間的過程。企圖在「寫實」這一種最不對理解設限的視覺形式中,探索某種關於記憶與時間的意涵。當然,這可以被視為是對自身或是特定人物的記憶描繪與性格側寫,但更期待可以被當作為一個純粹感性的完整創作活動:它立基於一個單純的再現信仰,並且實踐一種在視覺上純然的專注,而不對之加諸於任何造型或美感的判斷。
